- It won't complete graded work
This is a platform rule that takes priority over your own settings and anything a student types.
- Course Materials Only says when your materials don’t have the answer
An assistant with that setting answers only from your materials, instead of filling the gap itself.
- Exports can be verified
Students can export a conversation with a code that anyone can check without signing in, and the check never shows what was said. Verify an export
- Settings are versioned
Every response is linked to the bot settings used at the time.
Privacy
Before their first question, students are told what is stored and who can read it, and they must agree.
Your materials are used only in your course, and you can delete them at any time.
Officehour never trains models on your materials.
The policy says how long student records are kept, and deleting an archived course erases its conversations, roster and consent records.
